We sampled on a local Middle School this day.  As part of out work, we showed several classrooms of children what we do...how we sample...and what it might mean.  They were so engaged and asked great questions.   I hope they became interested in their own water quality...

We work in rural areas a lot and often have animals get interested in what we are doing.  This time, it is cows...Moo!

North Dakota is real pretty...work is going well.   We will eventually go to colorado for some work before heading home.   It will be more than a month on the road.   I miss my bed.

I took several students to some oil seeps in Towsley Canyon (NW LA County).  Aside from the oil, there is hyper saline water also discharging.   I think it comes from a very deep and old (30 million years old) source.  Inmterestingly, there are springs near by that als...
